WHAT IS A RADON SURVEY?
A Radon Survey is for home owners who want the best value for their money. We will send a licensed radon mitigation specialist to your house. We will run a minimum of 7 tests to get the best idea where the radon levels are the highest and/or coming from. Then based on where the radon is coming from, that will dictate the methodology for fixing the house. Our cheapest mitigation system after a survey was $1.79 on a $500,000 home in Princeton. We have repaired over 20 homes this year without putting in ventilation systems. The radon survey process usually only takes from two to four days to complete.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE A SURVEY DONE WHEN I CAN GET OTHERS TO COME IN AND GIVE ME A FREE ESTIMATE?
It is true that others will come in and give you a free estimate, and that is what you will get, a free estimate. Someone will come into your house and tell you what they will charge you to install a Sub Slab Suction System (vent system) in your home. In some towns the permits, electrical costs to install, and State fees can be as high as $300.00. That $300.00 is before you even touch the house! We offer you a way to fix your house for the least amount possible. If after the survey results come in, and there is a way to fix your house for next to nothing, we will tell you right up front. Some houses simply do not need complete mitigation (ventilation) systems. For houses that do need a vent system we will install the vent system based on the location and levels of the "hot spots". The difference between a "custom system" and a generic system usually amounts to about $40.00 in pipe. By the way, we pay the $40.00; the radon system price does not increase.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PAY YOU $200.00?
Should you decide that you want us to install a vent, and you need the vent system, then the $200.00 you paid us for the survey comes off the system price, and we will be ready to go when you give us the word. We NEVER do any work until we have run the seven additional tests.
WHAT IF THE SURVEY SHOWS ADDITIONAL WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE THAT IS NOT LISTED IN THE ESTIMATE THAT WE RECEIVED FROM YOU?
The price you receive the night the survey is the highest price you will pay. Any additional work that is done based on survey results is at no charge to the home owner. Rest assured the additional work will be done if the survey shows that it should be. That's our promise to you. We do not want your house just brought down to 4.0 pCi/L or less, we want it as low as we can physically get it.
